The Radiant Voice
with Kevin Crawford and Caroline Boersma
Dates: 18-19 April 2026
Content: This workshop is an opportunity to explore the width and breadth of your voice and be inspired by the unique timbre that each participant brings to their work. Through a progression of somatic and vocal exercises, we test out the boundaries of our voices: touching less developed areas, consolidating more familiar territory. We reveal the power of our vocal selves without losing the vulnerability that touches the listener. A voice radiates outwards when its source is drawn from the fusion of psyche and soma, breath and emotion.
Caroline accompanies and inspires us with the vibratory force of the cello.

The Protean Voice intensive – finding Form in Text and Song
with Kevin Crawford and Caroline Boersma (cellist)
Dates: 18-23 August 2026
Content: The thrust of this summer workshop, a regular event since 2022, is the protean nature of the voice: its capacity to reveal to us a multiplicity of sounds, that evoke emotion, summon up character, and drive us to communicate. This wealth of expression brings with it a depth of colour and dynamics, shaping our creative experience.. Our work will converge towards two ‘forms’: a song of your choice and shared extracts from The Circus of the Sun by the American poet Robert Lax.
Caroline brings her finely tuned ear to this work, helping us to balance musicality and verbal muscle.
The workshop will include daily warm-up sequences designed to open up body, voice and spirit: Solo and group vocal research extending range and elasticity; The challenge of text work: how to expand interpretation; The dynamic flow of musical imagination; Solo and collaborative creative work
Note: We are looking for a small group of students (6-10) who have some experience in voicework and want to take their practice further. As some of the participants will be coming from outside Italy we would ask that you confirm participation before 30th May latest. A deposit will then be requested to secure your place.
